Mo Bettah Steaks

Mo Bettah Steaks is our favorite Hawaiian place. If we can't be in Hawaii, this food is the next best thing. This was our 1st Shaved ice of the season. We can't believe it's taken us so long to get one. They are huge.
Kaylen loved the chicken and steak and rice.
She also loved the shave ice. Yum!

24th of July!

On the 24th of July we had a BBQ with Bekah's family. Not everyone could make it, but there was enough to make it a party. Brielle & Kaylen watching fireworks. They got so excited to see everything.
Kaylen & Cousin Thomas playing with Grandpa.
 Kaylen loved to be outside!
Kaylen loved to tackle Grandpa, she would run and tackle him.
 She loves to play

Humongous!

Right before nap time and lunch time,  Kaylen watched Sesame Street while we made lunch. On the show, they had the word of the day be Humongous! We went to a BBQ at Grandma & Grandpa F's house for dinner and fireworks. On they way home she just kept saying Humongous over and over. It's so funny to hear a big word come out of that tiny mouth of hers.

Allergic to......

Kaylen was eating some cashews out of a trail mix, but accidentally got to a peanut. We didn't know at the time that she was allergic to peanuts, she has never had them before. She broke out in hives, and we gave benadryl, she was having a hard time breathing so we took her to her Doctor at Riverton Hospital. It was during nap time, so she was pretty tired, but did a great job. They did a breathing treatment and gave her a steroid medicine to help open up her air waves, and help with the inflammation.

She fell asleep before dinner cause she was so tired without a nap that day.
This was a few days before her trail mix episode. Who knew that mini chewy sweetarts had egg in them. We didn't and we forgot to check the ingredients. She broke out into about a hundred hives on her face and body. Her eyes and nose got swollen. Benadryl helped about an hour later.

Of course we back date this blog, so we have had a scratch test done on Aug. 1st and found out she is allergic to Dairy, Egg, Peanut, Dogs, & Mustard. The test also said cashews, but she eats those all the time, so the Dr. said it was a false positive which is about 50% chance. We are waiting for her next appointment with the allergist to find out the blood work results and next steps. We really hope she can out grow most of these. We knew she was allergic to Dairy and Egg, but didn't know about Peanuts until now. That just seemed to tip the scale over. Poor little girl.

There is a natural way of trying to get rid of these allergies. It's called N.A.E.T. We've had a friend of a friend try it and it's worked for 4 years of being allergy free. It's pretty expensive, but we have done about 5 treatments and haven't seen the results we wanted. We hope something works.

Bear Lake

Bear Lake is always a favorite of the family. This year Brandon wasn't able to make it because of work so Bekah got to take Kaylen all by herself. She had great help from her family and Kaylen loved all the attention from cousins. We went to shakes every night, we went to the beach and swimming at the pool everyday. We sure missed Brandon. At the beach, Kaylen didn't like to have her feet dirty with sand on it, so she walked around in her flip flops. She was such a great traveler in the car ride. We were surprised that she never fell asleep in the 3 hour car ride, she just talked, counted, and sang songs the whole way there and back.

4th of July

We went down to Salem to have a BBQ with our friends, and we kept Kaylen up way too late! All she wanted was to be wrapped up in her blanket. She wasn't scared of the fireworks, just really tired from being up so late.

Her hair was pretty crazy because she kept pulling out her bow.
Sitting in her little chair watching the fireworks!
